Science - Fly
- Tasting with the Feet:
A fly has special taste sensors on its feet called tarsal hairs. When it lands on a surface, these sensors test the chemistry of the food to see if it has sugar, salt, or other nutrients.
- Spitting and Vomiting: If the food is tasty, the fly releases saliva or regurgitates a mix of digestive enzymes and liquid from its stomach onto the solid food.
- External Digestion: The digestive enzymes break down the complex molecules in the solid food, turning it into a soft or liquid "soup" right outside the fly's body.
- Slurping the Meal: The fly uses its proboscis (a tube-like mouthpart with a sponge-like tip called a labellum) to mop up and drink the liquefied food like a smoothie.
In conclusion, once the fly’s enzymes break down the food:
- Complex molecules are chemically altered
- Proteins are denatured
- Sugars are broken into simpler components
- The mixture is contaminated with fly saliva, microbes, and digestive enzymes
The original food cannot be reconstructed. The process is chemically irreversible.
Qur'an - Fly
More than fourteen centuries ago, the Holy Qur’an (22:73) declared that whatever a fly snatches from you cannot be recovered. For generations this verse remained enigmatic—until modern science revealed why the fly’s unique digestive and enzymatic processes make retrieval impossible. The Creator is challenging us with this verse!
يا أَيُّهَا النّاسُ ضُرِبَ مَثَلٌ فَاسْتَمِعُوا لَهُ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللّهِ لَنْ يَخْلُقُوا ذُباباً وَ
لَوِ اجْتَمَعُوا لَهُ وَ إِنْ يَسْلُبْهُمُ الذُّبابُ شَيْئاً لا يَسْتَنْقِذُوهُ مِنْهُ ضَعُفَ الطّالِبُ وَ الْمَطْلُوبُ
O people! An example is given, so listen to it: Those you call on other than God will never create even a fly though
they may come together for that purpose.
And if such a fly steals something from them, they cannot take it back from it.
The seeker (worshipper) and the sought (what is worshipped) are both weak. 22:73
