Old Testament points to Mecca
إِنَّ أَوَّلَ بَيْتٍ وُضِعَ لِلنَّاسِ لَلَّذِى بِبَكَّةَ مُبَارَكًا وَهُدًى لِّلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
The first House (of worship) appointed for men was that at Bakka: Full of blessing and of guidance for all kinds of beings 3:96
In the above verse from the Holy Qur'an, the word ( بکه ) is used to refer to Mecca (Makkah) instead of the word ( مکه ). Why?!
One of the meanings of the word ( بکه ) is "a place of gathering where arrogance and pride are replaced with humbleness, leaving a person weeping and asking for forgiveness". In dealing with the Christians and Jews, Allah (SWT) uses the word Baca ( بکه ) simply because He wants to draw their attention to the Old Testament! The word Baca ( بکه ) is mentioned in Palms 84:6 and it is described as a valley of Weeping. The following can easily be found:
Psalm 84:6 in the NIV translation reads: "As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a place of springs; the early rain also covers it with pools." This verse speaks of a journey through a difficult, perhaps dry, place (Valley of Baca) where, through the travelers' efforts and God's provision, springs and pools of water are created, bringing blessing and refreshment.
