Science - Prohibition of gambling

Gambling can have serious negative effects, both financially and psychologically. Many people are drawn to it in hopes of quick winnings, but for some, it leads to addiction, causing financial distress, debt, and even bankruptcy. The unpredictability of gambling can fuel compulsive behavior, harming relationships and mental health. Many individuals experience stress, anxiety, and depression due to financial losses and the inability to stop gambling. Additionally, problem gambling can lead to criminal activity, such as fraud or theft, when individuals feel desperate to recover their losses. On a broader scale, communities impacted by excessive gambling often face increased poverty rates, family breakdowns, and strain on social services. While entertainment is a valid reason for gambling, responsible practices and awareness are crucial to avoid its destructive effects.

Qur'an - Prohibition of gambling

 يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَا ٱلْخَمْرُ وَٱلْمَيْسِرُ وَٱلْأَنصَابُ وَٱلْأَزْلَـٰمُ رِجْسٌ مِّنْ عَمَلِ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِ فَٱجْتَنِبُوهُ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ

O you who believe! Intoxicants and gambling, (dedication of) stones, and (divination by) arrows, are an abomination,-

of Satan's handwork: eschew such (abomination), that you may prosper. 5:90

يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلْخَمْرِ وَٱلْمَيْسِرِ قُلْ فِيهِمَآ إِثْمٌ كَبِيرٌ وَمَنَـٰفِعُ لِلنَّاسِ وَإِثْمُهُمَآ أَكْبَرُ مِن نَّفْعِهِمَا

 وَيَسْـَٔلُونَكَ مَاذَا يُنفِقُونَ قُلِ ٱلْعَفْوَ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمُ ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَفَكَّرُونَ

They ask you concerning wine and gambling. Say: "In them is great sin, and some profit, for men; but the sin is greater than the profit."

They ask you how much they are to spend; Say: "What is beyond your needs." Thus Allah Makes clear to you His Signs:

In order that you may consider- 2:219

إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ أَن يُوقِعَ بَيْنَكُمُ ٱلْعَدَٰوَةَ وَٱلْبَغْضَآءَ فِى ٱلْخَمْرِ وَٱلْمَيْسِرِ وَيَصُدَّكُمْ عَن ذِكْرِ ٱللَّهِ وَعَنِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ فَهَلْ أَنتُم مُّنتَهُونَ

Satan's plan is (but) to excite enmity and hatred between you, with intoxicants and gambling,

and hinder you from the remembrance of Allah, and from prayer: will you not then abstain? 5:91

Interesting, the Holy Qur'an not only addresses the worldly negative affects of intoxicants and gambling but also focuses on the fact that they hinder our relationship with the Creator.
